Hello, Umi here.
I’ve been eating too much good food lately. Or rather, nothing but good food. I’m so busy.
Today I would like to talk about a very delicious Mont Blanc.
In the past few years, there have been a lot of Mont Blancs that have become a hit on social media!
I had often seen them on TV and online, but never had the chance to eat them…
It is! This summer! Finally!
The long-sought-after Ei Ei Mont Blanc is right in front of me!
Located in Chigasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture. About a two-minute walk from the south exit of Chigasaki Station is the aptly named “Freshly Pressed Mont Blanc Specialty Store.
It is located in the same place as the restaurant “Garyu Iron”.
The restaurant is operated by IMM Food Service Corporation, headquartered in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, and Chigasaki is its first store in Kanagawa Prefecture!
It was opened on August 2, 2022.
I first visited there in late August. I happened to discover it while strolling around Chigasaki Station.
It was a lingering summer heat that day, and sweat was pouring out of my face (laughs).
Just as I was thinking I needed somewhere to cool off and take a break, a sign for “Freshly Pressed Mont Blanc” appeared in front of me!
We were able to sit inside the restaurant right away at the right time that day, so we had it eat-in.
Without hesitation, I ordered the freshly squeezed Mont Blanc (small).
~ “Freshly Pressed Mont Blanc Specialty Store” is dedicated to
Italian chestnuts with a strong flavor from Italy, a major chestnut producing area, and Rihei chestnuts from Kumamoto Prefecture, also known as the “king of chestnuts,” are blended together and pressed into a fine 1 mm diameter by a special squeezer developed by our company.
Each one is finished by pressing the marron cream in front of your eyes after receiving your order.
A short time later, the “Freshly Pressed Mont Blanc” was brought before me! This is the art of eating!
The silky, thinly squeezed marron cream was filled with meringue cookies, fresh whipped cream, and ice cream. At the top, chestnuts in astringent skin reigned supreme.
It was agonizingly delicious!
And from that day on, “Oh, I want to eat that Mont Blanc again! I want it now!” And I couldn’t forget it…
Two months have passed since then!
Last week, I had a reunion with the “fresh squeezed Mont Blanc” that I had dreamed of~!
I was doing pasta lunch.
The “in-store,” “eat-at-home,” and “to-go” items are sold in three different forms.
Each seems to have a slightly different content.
Since I got the “in-store” version last time, I decided to order the “to-go” version this time and take it out.
We ordered two kinds of Mont Blanc: “Fresh Squeezed Mont Blanc” and “Basque Cheese Mont Blanc.”
Visitors can watch the process of making Mont Blanc right in front of their eyes.
The brother makes it with great care.
For take-out, each one will be placed in a special box.
With a thrill of excitement, it was time to cut!
To-go: cacao coated meringue cookie + whipped cream + marron cream + chestnut astringent skin.
Ice cream is not included because it melts.
The key point is the “cacao-coated meringue cookie,” which is different from the in-store version.
The meringue is covered with white chocolate, which was thought to prevent moisture when taken home.
Thanks to this, I could taste the crispy meringue even after a long time.
Next, “Basque Cheese Mont Blanc” is 1400 yen!
The filling is rich basque cheesecake + fresh whipped cream + marron cream.
The basque cheesecake is rich and has a strong cheese flavor.
It seemed heavier than the normal “fresh squeezed Mont Blanc”, but chestnuts and cheese go well together!
By the way, the “for eating” one, which I have yet to try, seems to have ice cream and caramel, which I would love to try!
It is a “fresh squeezed Mont Blanc” that shows the passion, commitment and effort for Mont Blanc!
Thanks for the food~♪
Umi.
