Today…I would like to talk about a superbly delicious treat from “Ile de Chocolat,” the oldest chocolatier in Shonan, established in 1990.
Ile de chocolat” has four stores in the Chigasaki and Kamakura areas.
Chigasaki East Coast Branch (Main Branch)
Chigasaki Lachien Store
Laska Chigasaki
Kamakura Branch
We use the finest imported cuverture to create truly delicious chocolates, as well as baked sweets in the shape of cute shells and fish, which are unique to Shonan and can be found nowhere else in Japan. We always pursue the essence of taste by using the best ingredients and using the method directly handed down from MOF in France. We do not use any coloring agents or synthetic chemical flavors so as not to spoil the flavors of the ingredients, and we value the elegant colors and flavors of natural ingredients. (quoted from the Ile de chocolat website)”.
(Adapted from Ile de chocolat website)
As a chocolatier, there are many types of chocolates.
Chocolates in the shape of fish, very cute and Chigasaki-like.
I went to the Laska Chigasaki store!
There are many products on display, but these are the two I’m looking for!
With the store’s signature “fresh shell pie”,
This “true tiramisu” won second place in the tiramisu category of the Nikkei Shimbun Plus 1 “Anything Goes Ranking!
(I’m curious about #1…I’ll check back later…)
We took two home and had them for a snack.
The bag is cute!
The fresh shell pie has five types of cream inside: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, marron, and praline.
There is a lot of cream inside!
Because it’s refrigerated, the pie is moist rather than crispy. I guess it is similar to puff pastry or croissant dough.
But it is completely different from cream puffs and croissants. The one and only.
This vanilla cream was so good. It was rich, yet light and fluffy, and melted in your mouth in no time.
Fresh cream lovers will love it!
The pie crust has a strong buttery flavor.
What a snack! This is the one that I can eat as many as I want!
Continuing with the “true tiramisu”.
This is “Cafe”. They also have “Raspberry” and “Passion”.
A beautiful looking tiramisu packaged in a large jar.
It allows you to scoop the cream and sponge in a well-balanced way.
Rich mascarpone cream and chocolate sponge soaked in coffee syrup.
This chocolate sponge was astonishingly delicious and I tasted it with my eyes.
The bitterness of the coffee is packed in, and the tenderness of the mascarpone cream mixes with it to create a ridiculously wonderful harmony!
A true “true tiramisu”! This one must be #1!
(What kind of tiramisu is #1 – I’m still curious…)
Since it is a large size, it would be good for two people to share.
The jars have a cute design and make you happy after eating.
Ohhhh, it was so delicious! I have never had such a delicious tiramisu!
Thank you for the food… ♪
