Two weeks ago, I visited for the first time “Kumaya Bekkan Yaei,” located about a two-minute walk from the north exit of JR Chigasaki Station.

I couldn’t forget how delicious it was, so I went back for lunch!

We made a reservation to visit the restaurant at 12:00 noon, but by 12:30 the restaurant was full.

Lunch starts at 11:30 a.m., so it is best to go early or make a reservation to be sure.

By the way, ㈫㈬ is closed.

Lunch menu, slightly changed from last time. The menu is still as attractive as ever.

This time, there was one thing I was determined to try! I had made up my mind that I was going to eat it this time.

One is “tendon.

Last time, I caught a glimpse of the tendon that another customer had ordered, and it was so huge that I couldn’t help but notice it! I couldn’t help but be curious.

The other is “mountain salad.

This is a night menu that is not on the lunch menu, but last time another customer asked for the night menu and ordered it.

Then I glanced at the “mountain salad” that was brought to me! A delicious looking steak on top of the salad!

It is no longer a glimpse, but a gunshot.

I was shown to my seat and immediately asked for the night menu.

The clerk gladly brought it to me.

There it is! “Mountain Salad”!

Kumaya Bekkan Yayoi” Night Menu

The “sea salad” seems to contain seafood, while the “mountain salad” contains lean beef steak.

But, however, there was no “mountain salad” that day… Unfortunately, there was no “mountain salad” that day. They didn’t have any meat. Oh, what a pity.

I promised myself that I would come back next time! I promised myself that I would be back next time, and ordered the “daily set meal” from the lunch menu.

The daily set meal of the day was three pieces of sashimi and a fried fish and vegetable salad.

Daily set meal (3 pieces of sashimi and fried fish and vegetable salad)

It is ¥2300 (tax included) with rice, soup, a small bowl of cooked food, pickles, an after-meal drink and dessert.

Kumaya, whatever you eat is really delicious!

Fried Fish and Vegetable Salad

The salad was heaped into a bowl the size of a ramen noodle bowl.

The fish was amberjack, and it was full of large fillets. Vegetables were also riddled with large cuts.

Fried Fish and Vegetable Salad

The sesame dressing goes well with the fried yellowtail and vegetables. The eggplant was especially delicious. Oh, and the cucumber.

This is not a salad, but a fine side dish! Rice goes well with it.

Finished Fish and Vegetable Fried Salad

We shared and finished the meal together.

Sashimi from the daily set meal

Sashimi is still too delicious.

Shrimp and Vegetable Tendon

This is “Shrimp and Vegetable Tendon” ¥2,300 (tax included).

Comes with soup, small bowl of cooked food, pickles, after-meal drink & dessert.

Shrimp and Vegetable Tendon

This is also the size of a ramen bowl! Anyway, it is large!

Shrimp and Vegetable Tendon

It is not that the amount of rice is particularly large, but the volume of tempura is amazing.

It contained not only shrimp and vegetables, but also scallops and fish tempura.

Freshly fried crispy tempura.

(The amount of sauce seemed a bit much…the sauce soaked into the rice too much, so next time I’ll ask for less sauce to be poured over the rice.)

In the tempura was a vegetable that I had never seen before, like broccoli or asparagus.

This was so delicious!

I found out that it was a vegetable called “stick senor.

stick señor

Stick señor, also known as “stem broccoli,” is a cruciferous vegetable that is a cross between broccoli, which is native to the Mediterranean Sea, and the Chinese vegetable kai lan, which is also known as “stem broccoli.

Originally developed by a Japanese seed company, stick senyor was not very popular at first.
Later, however, when the product was exported to the United States and became very popular, it was re-imported to Japan and saw the light of day again.

Stick señoles are characterized by long, slender stems with small flower buds (karai) at the tip.
The stems are crunchy and slightly sweet like asparagus, and the flower buds are softer in texture than broccoli.
While broccoli is generally consumed at the flower buds, stick seniors can be eaten at the main axis, the stem and leaves extending from the sides, and even the flower buds.

The tender flower buds are quickly cooked and served in salads and salad dressings, while the stem parts are stir-fried. (Adapted from DELISH KITCHEN)”

It was a new discovery!

And after-dinner fun. Thrilling and exciting.

After-dinner pudding and coffee

Here it comes! Pudding!

Kumaya Bekkan Yayoi” Pudding

It’s delicious. I like it so much because it’s hard and thick.

I want another one.

Today, too, 90% of our customers ordered pudding. It is definitely the most popular dessert.

Next to pudding, cheesecake is the most popular item on the menu. And the “rice bowl with local fish and sesame wasabi sauce” is also considered to be a popular menu item. (according to Umi).

I’ll be back for the “mountain salad” next time!

All of Kumaya’s dishes are huge, so I recommend that you go there with a full stomach! I was so full that I didn’t need dinner.

Thank you, Kumaya, for another delicious meal today.

Thank you for the food… ♪
