I never thought I’d see “Sachertorte” recreated in pudding!

Curious!

I’m aware that “Sachertorte” is a rich chocolate cake, but I actually don’t remember eating much of it…

What is a “Sachertorte” anyway?

The Sachertorte is a pastry (torte) served at the Sacher Hotel and the Demel pastry store in Austria.

A type of classic chocolate cake.

Also called Sachertorte.

A chocolate-flavored butter cake is made by baking a batter made of flour, butter, sugar, eggs, and chocolate, then spreading apricot jam and coating the entire surface with melted chocolate fondant (sugar coating).

Sometimes the sponge is cut into top and bottom slices and jam is spread in between. To cleanse the palate, the sponge cake is served with whipped cream without sugar.

Characterized by its rich, thick flavor, it is a specialty of the Hotel Sacher in Vienna and is known as the king of chocolate cakes.

In recent years, numerous cafes and confectionery stores have offered chocolate cakes called Sachertorte, but it is correct to assume that they are simply a type of chocolate torte.

What a surprise! There are only two official Sachertorte’s, one from the Austrian hotel “Sacher” and the other from the pastry store “Demel”!

I didn’t know…

I would love to try the “Demel” Sachertorte!

Now, back to the pudding…

It is divided into two layers.

Apricot sauce on the bottom and chocolate pudding on top.

I wonder if the pudding on top was added to give it more of a “Sachertorte” feel.

So I think the right thing to do is to take it as it is in the cup…

I just couldn’t resist the urge to turn it over on a plate…

I did it!

Boom!

I didn’t expect the apricot sauce to be as loose as it was…

I thought it would be more jammy and sloppy, but it was a thicker sauce.

It’s starting to look like a strange food, isn’t it?

But don’t worry, it tastes great!

The chocolate pudding is sticky, smooth, and rich, with the bitterness and richness of chocolate.

Sweet and bitter chocolate.

The apricot sauce is sweet and sour and lush!

Goes well with rich chocolate pudding!

I think it’s a very unique pudding, but I like it a lot!

We recommend this pudding when you want to eat a rich chocolate.

I was surprised at the surprisingly low calorie content.
