We had lunch at Kumaya Annex Yaei, a 2-minute walk from the North Exit of JR Chigasaki Station in Chigasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
This will be my third visit.
For the first time, I was seated on the first floor, which has both counter and table seating.
Today is the day! I’m craving a “mountain salad.”
The first time, a regular seated near me ordered the “mountain salad,” which is not on the lunch menu…
The “mountain salad” I caught a glimpse of looked absolutely delicious.
Second time, I asked, “Do you have mountain salad?” I asked, and they said they couldn’t because they didn’t have any meat. (Since it is not on the lunch menu…it’s no wonder they can’t do it.)
And for the third time, I asked him, “Can you make a mountain salad?” I asked him nervously, “Yes, I can! I was told “Yes, you can!
Sorry for being so selfish~. I really wanted to try the mountain salad!
Thank you very much!
Finally, the long-sought-after “mountain salad” ¥2500 (tax not included) was in front of me!
Dawn! It’s so powerful!
I ordered the set meal set, but the rice bowl and soup bowl look small…
No, both the rice bowl and the bowl are normal size. If anything, the rice bowl is slightly larger than a regular one.
The plate of mountain salad is unusually large!
As we wade through the piles of vegetables…
A large cut of beef steak is served in the dish! It is filled with as much as you can eat.
Is this a salad?
It is a magnificent main dish.
The lean beef steak is grilled to perfection, very tender and roast beef-like.
Japanese ginger & onion dressing goes well with this dish.
Crisp lettuce, mizuna, cucumbers, bell peppers, mini tomatoes, young corn, eggplant, carrots, squash… all fresh and very tasty!
It is not an amount that can be eaten by one person.
We shared and finished the meal together!
Another menu item I wanted to try.
Local fish bowl with sesame wasabi sauce ¥1,650 (tax not included)
Many customers order from this menu.
This is a bowl of rice, but the ingredients are so plentiful that you can’t see the rice at all.
It was served with chopped tuna, yellowtail, white fish (I didn’t know what kind of fish it was), herring roe, and even salmon roe, all dressed with wasabi and sesame sauce.
The moment you put it in your mouth, the fish melts.
I was impressed by the smoothness of the sashimi when I had it before.
I think this is partly due to the freshness of the fish, but it must also have something to do with the way the meat is cut.
Anyway, the rice goes on and on! It is so delicious that you will want to devour it.
I’m full, but not of the after-dinner pudding. (More on pudding in another article…)
On the wall of the restaurant, we found this information.
You had a stamp card!
I asked the clerk to make it for me.
Depending on the number of stamps they receive, they get a free drink, salad, tempura, sashimi, and finally a free lunch!
It seems to be valid for one year, but I’m sure it will accumulate in plenty of time. I am looking forward to it.
Thank you for another delicious meal, Kumaya!
Umi.
