This is the “kamakura custard pudding” which has been on sale since May 11, 2021.
It was purchased at the Takashimaya Food Maison Shin-Yokohama store.

Reminiscent of “kamakura kastor”!
If I hear that, I have to have a “kamakura kuster” as well!
So, I decided to buy “kamakura kuster (custard)” with it.
I haven’t had kamakura kuster in a long time! I’m so glad!
When you open the bag, a sweet and savory smell spreads.
The sponge is soft and fluffy with a nice browning.
The inside is filled with custard cream.
Oh, delicious~!
The custard cream inside is smooth and thick. It is rich yet light.
The cream, of course, is delicious, but what makes it so delicious is the sponge!
The surface has a dark sweetness like sponge cake crust, while the inside is so light and fluffy that it melts in your mouth.
I’m not a big fan of sponge dough, but I love this sponge so much!

The “pudding color” is a model of pudding.
Viewed from the side, you can see that the top of the bottle is slightly depressed.
This is just a guess on my part, but I think it was designed to be easy to hold. In fact, if you hold it with your finger along this depression, it fits just right! (Sorry if I’m wrong…)

The eggs and milk are wonderfully balanced! They seem to use Jersey milk, which is rich and full-flavored.

The pudding is smooth and not too sweet.
Caramel sauce came out from the bottom.
This caramel sauce tastes like the sponge surface of the “kamakura kaster”!
I thought it was a gentle sweetness without bitterness, but it was made with wasanbon.
The amount of caramel sauce is modest, so the original flavor of the pudding can be savored all the way through.
It was the ultimate luxury to be paired with the “kamakura kaster.”
