Today’s pudding.
Hinai Jidori Chicken Egg Pudding” by Taitoku Shoten, Akita Prefecture.
This pudding was purchased at ANAFESTA, a souvenir shop at Akita Airport, when I visited Akita Prefecture at the beginning of the year.
The pudding is made with 100% eggs from Japan’s three largest chickens, the Hinai Jidori!
One of the pleasures of traveling is to encounter puddings that you would not normally see.
Each box of pudding contains four puddings, plus four caramel sauces and spoons in a smaller box.
It is a firm and elastic pudding.
The pudding alone is rich, and the bittersweet caramel sauce, which is served separately, enhances the flavor of the pudding and makes it even more delicious.
Hinai Jidori chicken eggs are said to have a strong egg flavor with little odor. Yeah, yeah, I get it!
But I’ve never eaten Hinai Jidori eggs…did you really get it?
Here’s one wish…
I want to try Hinai Jidori chicken eggs!”
Yes!
Therefore,
Ordered from Akita! Hinai Jidori chicken eggs!
The price is 600 yen for 6 pieces!
They are 100 yen each! Unbelievable!
This must be taken to heart!
We immediately held a “Hinai Jidori Egg Eating Party” over the weekend.
First of all, it would be “egg on rice”. My hands tremble as I crack open the eggs.
I could tell the difference from the eggs I usually eat the moment I cracked them open!
First of all, the shell is hard and thick, the yolk is a deep bright orange color, and the white meat is very elastic.
I had prepared a special soy sauce for the egg on rice, but it was delicious without any sauce, just the taste of the egg!
Next – “boiled eggs”.
My hands tremble as I peel the shells.
I thought the boiling time was a little too long, but the yolk was rich and the white was plump and delicious. However, the yolk was rich in flavor and the white meat was plump and delicious. Both the yolk and the white meat are packed tightly.
And finally – “omelette”.
My hands tremble as I roll the eggs.
The egg omelet had just a little bit of salt in it, but it tasted like sponge cake!
The sweetness and richness of the egg comes rushing in later.
What a luxurious meeting!
Now, back to the pudding…
This pudding came in a pack of four, and I saved the last one to taste again after eating the Hinai Jidori chicken eggs.
Thank God, no one had eaten it. It was well chilled in the refrigerator.
First, just the pudding.
Wooooooo! I can really taste the “Hinai Jidori chicken eggs,” which I only vaguely recognized when I first tasted them!
It’s the same sweetness I felt when I ate “omelette.”
The elastic and firm texture allows you to taste the richness of the egg.
The taste of the egg is as good as the richness of the caramel!
This pudding can be stored at room temperature, but I thought it tasted better if it was chilled thoroughly before serving.
Oh no, I was soooo extravagant!
