The most famous pudding in Kyushu is “Nishidori Pudding”.

I have heard about this pudding many times before, but this is the first time I have had it!

Nishidori Pudding has several stores in Fukuoka Prefecture and can be purchased online, and also has stalls in train stations and at events in the Kanto region.

The event will be held in the south ticket gates of JR Yokohama Station from January 21 to 26, 2023.

I visited on the first day. I was looking forward to this day!

Among several flavors, we chose the most popular one, “Thick Custard”.

West Street Pudding has a standard custard pudding, Pochet, but the rich custard has a darker flavor than Pochet.

It comes with a separate bag of caramel sauce.

First, we will take only the pudding.

The first bite was agony~. It’s so delicious!

First of all, the milk taste is rich and very creamy. Then comes the aroma of vanilla. Then, the richness of the egg. The texture is smooth and not too thick.

The top part seemed to be more milky. I kind of feel like there are two layers, or is that just my imagination?

Nishidori Pudding is made with eggs, milk, and cream from Kyushu, and the ingredients are very simple.

I haven’t put caramel sauce on it yet, but it is so good that I want to eat it all the way through without caramelizing it anymore.

The caramel was too much, so I drizzled a little on top.

It is a thick, quite bitter, robust caramel sauce.

The pudding tastes gently milky and goes well with the caramel sauce.

I preferred not to put it on.

While I was slowly enjoying the delicious food, my daughter appeared out of nowhere.

“Wow, Mom, you’re eating pudding again! Give me some!”

My daughter eats pudding every day because of me. And she always gives me polite feedback.

My daughter’s impression of today’s “thick custard” was…

“If you’re anything like me, you can imagine what kind of pudding it is the moment you scoop it with a spoon! This is definitely my kind of pudding.”

“Wooooo! What’s this! It’s a national treasure!

“My favorite pudding I’ve ever had is Torak’s ‘fresh pudding’ and it rivals or exceeds it in deliciousness!”

“Oh, it’s gone now, it’s so sad!”

Yes, pudding is sad the moment you finish it. It is full of love, and it is also fleeting.

But I want to eat more! is also the hope for tomorrow’s pudding and hope for life. (What the heck is that?)
