I think pudding and panna cotta are like brothers and sisters.

They may seem similar, but there are differences in ingredients and methods of preparation.

Pudding originated in England. It is solidified using the coagulating action of eggs.

Panna cotta originated in Italy. It is made with gelatin. Panna” means fresh cream and “cotta” means to boil down.

The main difference is that eggs are used for the pudding and fresh cream for the panna cotta.

I love whipped cream. I like panna cotta as much as I like pudding, but there are fewer of them than pudding and they are hard to find.
